Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (EWCA) has signed a Co-financing and Advisory Contract with the implementation partner of African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) on 27th April 2018.

The purpose of this Co-financing and Advisory agreement is to establish the terms and conditions for the implementation of the program. “Conservation and Sustainable Use of Bio- diversity” Co- financed by KFW Development Bank , African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) , the Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Government of Ethiopia. The agreement has been signed between Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority and African wildlife Foundation in details with the roles and responsibilities of EWCA as the implementing authority of the program and AWF as the implementing partner in the Simien Mountains National Park(SMNP).


Authority’s Director General of EWCA Ato Kumera Wakjira, who signed the agreement, remarked that the agreement is very necessary as it enables the Authority to conserve and manage the Simien Mountains National Park (SMNP) successfully.

Effectively African Wildlife Foundation, supported by KFW Development Bank, is going to be supporting conservation infrastructure in the Simien Mountains to ensure that the Simiens are protected for years to come.
